This Privacy Policy explains how Platinum Detailing ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and services.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: name, email, phone number, password (hashed).
- Booking information: service address, vehicle details (year, make, model, color, license plate if you choose to add it), scheduled times, photos you or we upload of your vehicle, and any notes you provide about condition or preexisting damage.
- Birth date (optional): used only to issue your complimentary birthday-month detail for eligible members. You can leave this blank or remove it at any time from your profile.
- Rewards & loyalty data: lifetime spend, membership tier, founding-member status, referral codes you share or redeem, reward claims (Google review, Nextdoor mention), and coupon usage.
- Payment information: we accept deposits and balances via Venmo, Zelle, or cash. Those transfers happen directly through your chosen provider, we never see or store your bank account, card number, or login credentials. We only record that a booking was marked paid and which method was used.
- Communications: booking confirmations, reminders, receipts, review requests, and any messages you send us. We track delivery status and unsubscribe preferences for transactional and marketing email.
- Usage data: basic device, browser, and page-view information for security, debugging, and analytics.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To schedule, deliver, and follow up on detailing services.
- To send booking confirmations, reminders, and receipts.
- To operate our loyalty rewards program, including membership tiers, referrals, founding-member perks, and birthday-month details.
- To verify reward claims (for example, that a Google review or Nextdoor mention was submitted).
- To improve the website, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with vendors that help us run the business, for example our email delivery provider and our cloud hosting and database provider, and only as needed to provide the service. Payments are handled directly between you and Venmo, Zelle, or in cash; those providers have their own privacy practices.
4. Data Retention
We retain booking and account records for as long as your account is active and as required for tax, legal, and accounting purposes. You can request deletion of your account at any time.
5. Your Choices
- You can update your profile information at any time from your account page.
- You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email.
- Transactional emails (booking confirmations, receipts) cannot be turned off while you have an active booking.
6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and row-level access controls in our database. No system is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your information.
7. Children
Our services are not directed to anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent change.
